The heat is then absorbed by the cells being targeted, while the surrounding tissue remains unaffected. K Stewart Beauty and Wellness ensures that the treatments are comfortable, safe, and effective.
Laser hair removal procedures impair the growth of hair follicles when they are in the growth cycle at the time of the procedure. There are three phases in a person’s hair growth cycle: Anagen, Catagen, and Telogen. Most clients need a minimum of 5-10 treatments in intervals of every 4 to 8 weeks, providing up to 80% permanent hair reduction. Many factors impact the efficiency of the results: the skill of the laser specialist, type of laser technology and a clients unique known and unknown conditions.
Permanent side effects are rare, and may include redness, swelling, hyperpigmentation, hypopigmentation, blistering and purpura (a laser bruise) in the treated area-these usually do not last more than a few days. Be sure to discuss potential side effects with your laser specialist.
Clients should avoid plucking, waxing, or electrolysis for 4-6 weeks prior to treatment. Skin should be clean-shaven and thoroughly cleansed, removing any makeup, creams, oils, topical anesthetics, or self-tanning products before treatment. Avoid skin care products with irritants such as Glycolic Acid or Retin-A on the treatment area for about a week. Do not expose the intended treatment area to sunlight or tanning booth light prior to or immediately after treatment.
A facial is a professional service designed to improve and rejuvenate the skin… Facial treatments help maintain the health of skin and correct certain skin conditions through deep cleansing, massage, the use of masks and other products, and various treatment methods.
Expect to be relaxed and pampered! Before your treatment, the esthetician will simply ask you a few questions about your skin, and do a skin analysis to tell you what skin type you are. The facial itself will consist of a deep cleansing, toning, exfoliation, massage, mask, and moisture treatment. You may be as silent or as talkative as you wish, as long as you remain respectful for other people in the building. Feel free to ask any questions you like, because it is also the therapist’s duty to educate you on proper skincare. Also feel free to take a nap! Falling asleep during a facial is very common and is perfectly acceptable. Be sure to communicate with the esthetician during the treatment if anything starts to feel uncomfortable. Products should never burn or make you feel itchy; they should be soothing to the skin. (If receiving a special peel or intensive treatment, the esthetician should notify you beforehand on any tingling sensations that you might feel).
You and will work together with the esthetician to find the best product for you. She will ask you a few questions, such as “What products are you using now?” and “What skin type do you think you have?” She will then conduct a thorough skin analysis using a special lamp that shows various skin conditions, including oil production, which will aid in determining your skin type. We will discuss any questions you have about your skin, as well as your skincare goals. From there, we will determine which facial to perform based on your needs.
Exfoliation is the removal of the dead skin cells that sit upon the skin and create a dull surface. Exfoliating helps to slough away the dead skin, allowing the fresh skin that lies beneath to shine through and create a healthier appearance. Exfoliation can be achieved either mechanically (through use of a facial scrub) or chemically (with a chemical or enzyme peel). Those with Normal to Dry skin should exfoliate once a week, while those with oily skin should exfoliate two to three times per week.
Facials are most beneficial when done on a regular basis. They can be done as often as once every two to four weeks, depending on the strength of the products being used. If you come any less often than once every four weeks, you will mainly just be getting the benefits of relaxation. You will also get the best results with your facials when using a good skincare regimen at home.
  1. Avoid tanning and using sunless tanners
  2. Follow your aesthetician’s advice for avoiding sun exposure before and after treatment. Whenever you go out, apply a broad-spectrum, SPF30 sunscreen.

  3. Refrain from waxing or plucking your skin
  4. Plucking and waxing can disturb the hair follicle and should be avoided at least four weeks before treatment.

  5. Before your session, shave the treatment area
  6. Trimming and shaving is recommended the day before laser treatment. It removes hair above the skin that can result in surface skin damage from burnt hairs, but it leaves the hair shaft intact below the surface.

  7. Check your medications
  8. Ask your doctor about what medications you are currently taking, such as aspirin or anti-inflammatory drugs, may be harmful so that it can avoided before the procedure.

  9. For face, remove makeup or creams
  10. The face needs to be free of anything and fully wiped clean before the treatment begins.
